Ha! Ha! I am in the same boat as you guys. All I can think about is getting accepted to Rice…hopefully. I am obsessed, and if I don’t get in I will be in the worst mood ever.

Hey guys
I’m from Houston, Texas and applied to Rice’s architecture program. Crossing my fingers. It’s kind of one of those things where you sort of expect to get in based on past people that have been admitted… better credentials, merits, and everything aside from being Asian instead of Hispanic.
I’ve been admitted to CMU, SAIC, and UT’s Arch program.

Have you guys read this??? It makes me want to get in to Rice even more!!!

How do we find out? Do they send us an email or do we have to login to the Rice portal?

They’ll email us.

Ah yeah, we have some truly legendary pranks at Rice. I got to talk to the guy who built the Hanszen Guardian. He’s a true genius haha.

Don’t worry guys, I understand your excitement but calm down, the day will come soon enough. :D

Hahah, good luck to everyone! Rice is the school of my dreams too, but it’s not likely I’ll get in. Wishing everyone the best! It’s been a restless, insomnia-filled two weeks for me. We should all try to be excited - not anxious!

c9901386, do asians have a better chance in getting into rice’s architecture program?

@kimchiboy

No. He’s saying that he has better credentials, merits, and everything EXCEPT not being Hispanic. Being Hispanic may be a hook, whereas being Asian is thought to be the opposite.

@Kimchiboy
Yeah, “achievingdream” got the gist of what I was saying. I have a friend who’s a freshman in the program. She told me that 13 out of the 25 in the class are Asian. This could be a good or bad thing… not too sure. I sat in on their studio session after my interview and I really liked it. There are a good number of internationals. 3 Turks haha
btw @achievingdream–I’m a she not a he:)

1 Day more

^ we are finding out tomorrow?

@Mango15: that is the apparent date until further notice, I suppose. I would like to find out tomorrow, though!

if they told that to kids at Vision a while back, it’s probably true

Oh no now you guys got me excited haha

Does anybody have any idea what time we would be notified if we were to find out tomorrow?

Does Rice favor alumni kids…like if your dad went there and donates…im curious.

We look forward seeing you on campus this fall!"

I just got this email, and I got accepted ED. I’d say this is a solid sign of decisions coming out tomorrow, but just a hunch.

Will they send us an email or do we need to logon to see if if we are accepted?

You will receive an email and can also log into ESTHER to check your admission decision I believe. Will we get notification of merit scholarships only through the mailed packet if we get admitted or will the email also contain some form of notification for that as well? Thanks.
