You have a shot :)

Science Club, Statistics Club, and Music Theory Club, Calculus Club, on the Math and Science UIL team, and in NHS.

Those hardly matter if you haven’t done anything big. Do you have any extracurriculars outside of generic clubs? Do you want to be an engineer? Should do an internship.

On a purely quantitative account, Rice is a reach for you. Does Rice even accept scores submitted in **February/b?

Your an ethnic minority, have superb academics, a decent ACT, and decent ECs. I would say you have an excellent shot.

The only extracurricular activities I have outside of school are volunteering for the Salvation Army once for a full day sorting clothes for all the Hurrican Katrina evacuees that came into our are, and I was selected as 1 of 14 for a city program Today’s Youth Tomorrow’s Leaders, a week long activity during the summer where they taught us leadership skills, and we learned about the city. We did more than that, but I used to have seizures and it has really hindered my memory… And no, I don’t want to be an engineer. Rice doesn’t except February scores, but I’m taking it for another college.

dude YOU HAVE A 4.0 YOU ARE GOING TO GET IN. apply for some other prestigous schools. you should try cornell which is probably the easiest ivy league to get in to with an acceptance rate of 20%

I applied to Rice as well, and I’m not sure how I stand.

Your academics are impeccable, but as someone mentioned above, your ECs are a little sparse. From when I visited, it seemed like the admissions officers like to see passion and more than the generic school clubs, so if I were you, I’d try adding a few of those on my app if it hasn’t already been submitted.

Could you take a look at my thread and see how I stand?

Just for future Rice Applicants who will read these chance threads eagerly while applying in the coming years, I wasn’t accepted by Rice.
