Does anyone happen to know the chances for a deferred applicant? I was deferred ED, and I’m feeling a strong rejection coming my way…
And we are here as on a darkling plain
Swept with confused alarms of decision release dates…
^ nicely done.
Rice just announced that @silverdrop has won the prestigious Matthew Arnold Scholarship for Parodic Studies.
Good luck to all of you!
Where ignorant posters clash by night?
Currently refreshing my portal for the 100th time this week
The moment of truth…
Sigh…
I will not check the decision until April 1st, but good luck to all of you!
Not coming out today?
And… nope
Ugh. I feel like the admission dates this year have been so late.
@ninadasi Agreed. Of course it would be this year.
I give up. Im going to hibernate until April 1st.
Kiss today goodbye…
And point me toward tomorrow
We did what we had to do…
Won’t regret, can’t regret
What I did fooooor Riiiiiiice.
Anybody else grateful that they get to live in hope another day before their dreams are dashed by a rejection?
Another way to think about this is that there are so many great candidates this year that they’re still hashing out who to admit.
Nope. I got deferred from MIT, so I spent four and a half total months of being extremely nervous. MIT was one of my top choices with Rice. It felt far better to be rejected than to not know after deferral. When I got deferred EA I kept worrying for all three months to March. The same day of rejection, I noticed a vast improvement in stress.
I guarantee all of us have our decisions finished, or at least the vast majority. This means that our chance at going to Rice is already most likely determined. I would absolutely love to go to Rice, but if I am rejected, I want to know now. This is slowly driving me crazy.
Of course if I get in it’s worth the wait.
@123peace I am reminded of Sioux leader Crazy Horse, who shouted “Hóka-héy!” meaning (loosely), “Today is a good day to die!” Be proud you shot for the top however it goes.
