I just checked my email. Pretty sure I haven’t received any overnight visit invitation after submitting the application. I did find an invitation from last September, though…which I kind of ignored…

@needtolearn: Yes, Rice requires a mid year report as soon as semester 1 grades become available.
So what does everyone like the most about Rice? The city, the culture, the residential college system? I really like the fact that it’s an enclosed little community within a huge city. Oh, also the fact that they have very progressive ideology.
What I like the most about Rice is the school’s dedication to community service and the residential college system. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s located in a major city.

I don’t think so, for right now at least. I think that person just mistook a regular email sent out to every applicant for a likely letter.
Apparently, invitation in the VISIONS program is considered a “likely letter” in the sense that they are told they are “basically accepted.” It is a program for URMs. You can go check out the thread. Other likely letters have not been sent out.
Yeah, I’ve heard a VISION invite is a good sign.
Also, can we get excited about the fact that if we go by last year’s dates, we only have ~20 days to wait until decisions!?

@fairyfantasy Last Year It was March 24th 5 PM so hopefully the 23rd this year; that would be the corresponding date. Officially, however, the date is just by April 1.
