Our district is running behind. We emailed Rice admissions and they said send them when you get them.

My son didn’t get an email. I don’t know if the counselor does it automatically.

We had a few schools with deadlines for mid-year grades and needed to reach out due to our district delay. We included Rice in our email checklist as a precaution. Rice did not contact us.

From Rice admissions page:
“ Early Decision applicants are encouraged to submit first marking period grades, when they become available. Regular Decision applicants will be required to submit mid-year grades from 12th grade, when they become available.”

Does your school use Naviance? If so, we had to request midyear reports thru it.

No, but my son just told me his GC sent all the MT reports automatically and they are in his Rice portal.

Rice didn’t send anything - but if you had your counselor upload a midyear report for other schools to Common App, they’d receive it. For grades, you needed to have your school or however you do it send a transcript.

It’s odd they sent no reminders but they didn’t.

Yep. It’s on your portal that it is needed. I had to nag my son for weeks for him to get onto parchment and sent them. Rice specifically requested, but I had him send to all his RD schools.

They always say by 4/1, but they release it earlier.

I hope it is earlier this year but probably not given their increase in apps plus delay by other colleges.

Last year decisions were released on 3/27/2020 at 5:00 p.m. Central (Houston) time. Rice sent an email to applicants shortly before the decisions were released giving the exact date and time.
