Rice University Regular Decision Class of 2025

American U released today - maybe the privates are coming…

I did not get an email today. What did it say? Now I’m worried…

But then, it’s Houston’s Best Kept Secret!

Is the email just a blast or is it an indication of possible acceptance?

Definitely a blast!

Probably in your spam/junk folder.

You will know when decisions are out - there will be 100 messages on this thread.

Has anyone get the Rice’s Counselor on portal? Just wondering if y’all in the same boat as mine.

We have the counselor’s info on portal.

If Rice holds true to what it has done in the past, Rice probably will not release decisions until the last week of March. I’m guessing it will be Friday, March 26 at 5:00 p.m. Central. Last year Rice sent out an email a few days ahead of the release date giving the exact date and time decisions would release. I think you have at least another week to wait.

Thanks for this! I think the only info we have is “before april 1”

Do you know how many applications they received this year? I am curious to see what their acceptance percentage will be with the increase in applications.

Has anyone heard anything about merit aid? Or have any info about merit? We have not heard anything from Rice other than some random emails they’ve been mass emailing everyone.

The Rice Thresher announced that Rice received a total of 29,509 applications for the Class of 2025, breaking the previous record of 27,087 set in 2019.

That’s why it’s the “ultra” stretch school - and it’s even a stretch for the best and brightest!!! It’s a prayer to get in…but someone has to

Wow. That’s amazing. Seems almost every school my D has applied to has broken some record or other in terms of their apps. Thanks for the info.

Test optional has kids saying “why not me” this year. And due to Covid, I would assume you have gap year kids and international increase as well.

It has been an overwhelming year. I don’t know what to tell my kid anymore. Right now just to keep her chin up. The “reach” schools have been moving farther and farther away.

Same here. My D knows her chances are very, very slim. She was fully aware of that going in and wanted to try regardless. Hopefully your child has, or will have, an acceptance they can be happy with. It’s hard as a parent to watch them go through this.

I applied to Rice (from MA) and when I had my interview, the lady said that Rice is always looking for applicants from different areas cause not many people outside of texas and that area know about Rice. Hoping this bodes well for me and other applicants!
