Rice University & Subject Tests

Rice states that they would like to see all ACT/SAT tests, but only 2 subject tests are recommended now. Should I send only my 2 highest as according to the school I am applying to, or all my subject test scores as well? Thanks!

How many is “all”? If 3, then send them all if they are strong. If more than 3, don’t send them all unless you want to risk being viewed as the poster child for over-testing.

6 total, but 2 of those are retakes. Thanks!

While no subject tests are required, Rice recommends certain subject test scores be sent depending on the school within Rice where you are applying. https://admission.rice.edu/policies/standardized-testing.

Rice’s application process requires you to apply to one of Rice’s Schools: Engineering, Humanities, Music, Architecture, Social Sciences, or Natural Sciences, Once admitted, you can take classes in any of the schools and major in anything yo like except music and architecture (which require an audition/portfolio). The key is to create a cohesive picture that you are a good academic fit for one of Rice’s schools.

Send the 2 highest subject tests that bolster your case for admission to the particular school within Rice that is the subject of your application. My daughter was applying as a Humanities major so she sent strong scores in Spanish and US History.
