Hi. I'm going to be a high school senior this year and I am very interested in applying for Rice's bioengineering program. I've done quite a bit of research about the college (admissions, scholarships, the OUTRAGEOUS tuition fees......) but I'm looking for some outside opinions on the matter.

I am ranked 12 out of 391 students in my high school (top 3%) and have so far passed 5/5 of the AP tests I've taken. I got a composite score of 32 on the ACT (my highest individual score was a 34 in Math and my lowest was a 29 in Reading).

I found out that last year 15,000 people applied to Rice, and only 16% were accepted. Now, if I was actually accepted the ONLY way I would be able to go there would be if I received a hefty scholarship (because my parents are NOT paying $50,000 per year...). I also learned that of the accepted students around 25% of them received a merit-based scholarship.

How do you guys think I will fare with getting accepted (and possibly receiving a scholarship)?

Thanks in advance for anyone who responds!!
