I'm kinda torn between these two schools, so I'm wondering if anybody knows how these programs are ranked in business and/or premed (like top 20, top 50, etc). and would it really make a big difference which school i choose if i wanted to continue to graduate business/medical school?

can anybody help me on this???? please.......

Neither school has an undergrad busines program, but you will be in good shape with a degree from either. I am biased (my s. goes to Rice and LOVES it!) but I must say, the opportunities to do research and interface with the huge medical center(s) across the street just can't be beat.
I like Vandy as well, and my younger s. is considering it, but for the plans you discuss, I like Rice. Yes, Vandy has a med school and Rice doesn't (if you don't count the Rice/Baylor program) but still, head-to-head, I like Rice.

If you want to major in business, Vandy is strong in Econ and has a minor in Managerial Studies (Finance, Accounting, etc.) for kids who are interested in I-Banking. But there is no "official" business major.

Rice doesn't do "minor's"- you have to double major, which you can do with Managerial Studies. Managerial Studies is not considered a solo major (ie you can't major "just" in managerial studies) but it can be a second major with another major.
