Rice vs Duke

Hi everybody. I have narrowed down my choices to these two, and the deadline's coming up in about a week. For a premed unsure about his major, and receiving no money for either although rice is cheaper right off the bat, how do they compare? I realize this is a very general question, but that is so you can post anything and everything relevant to the question! Thanks a lot!

Have you visited both schools? If so, where did you feel most comfortable and can you see yourself there for four years? Do you intended to major in one of the sciences? Both are excellent pre-med programs (about 90% acceptance rate for pre-meds) with ample opportunities to do research at nearby medical centers. I see them as pretty comparable actually so it will depend where you feel most comfortable. Rice is a bit less expensive but keep in mind where you live also adds up to your travel expenses.

As someone interested in medicine, I think Rice would be a great fit for you. The Texas Medical Center is best in the world and Rice is actually part of it! The connections, internships, and learning opportunities made available to Rice’s premed students are astounding and arguably unmatched. And if it’s less money as well…
