Money aside (it really isn't, but just to see your responses) I'm interested in economics mathematics, and I've been accepted to Rice. But I've also been accepted to Duke, WUSTL (Olin School of Business), Wake Forest, Furman (which has a math-econ major) and Clemson. Suggestions?

Narrow your choice down between Rice and Duke. Then pick Rice.

If I remember correctly, I don't think Rice has a business program...You might want to research though.

Two things:

1) Undergraduate business isn't even a real major. You don't need it to work in business. There's a reason why HYPS and many other top schools don't have business degrees.

2) You can do just fine out of a school like Rice with a strong background in whatever academic area you study, particularly if it gives you strong quantitative skills.

oh, and for future posters, business was the general topic, i'm interested in math/econ.

I'd go to Rice. Actually, the quantitative economics major was what I applied for as my top choice. That department, as well as the other I was looking at (physics), seemed to be very strong yet small enough that I wouldn't get lost in the shuffle.

econ is good at rice.....nice small classes. i am soo pumped. the next four years are gonna be a blast

we have math-econ as well, though you should be able to major in both almost anywhere.

sreis - i take that you are a student at rice. what kind of schools are kids going to after graduating with a ba in economics?

thing is, i got into nyu and chicago too, both really good economics schools. i am worried that the economics program at rice is not respected very much. would i be correct in saying so?
