I'm a likely science major deciding between Rice and Tufts. Have seen both campuses, familiar with weather in Boston & in Houston, but undecided between the 2 schools. Is Rice clearly the better choice?

i have never heard of tufts...so i say tufts who? but yea dude I would say rice is the better choice for science. they have so many opportuniites and very good proffesors. what specific science areu interested in?

Neuroscience or chem. Tufts is in Massachusetts - v close to Boston.

medical school?

maybe, maybe not!

ok, i was just asking to get a feel about your interests. I will be going to rice this fall as a possible biochemestry or bioengeneering major. and im a rice/baylor finalist. I can say that rifce is a great place to persue ur medical school interest because it is located pretty much walking distance from the medical center, which is the biggest in the world and the place where the some of the top internships are located after medical school. Baylor College of Medicine is now ranked number ten in the country and will continue to move up the ranks , by the time we graduate it could easily be top 5. u say chemistry...well the chemistry department is very good and it has two past noble prize winners for their development of nanotechnology..I met one of them at Rice Vision. the chemistry department is very very good i would say. and in neuroscience the classes are taught at baylor college of medicine so u will be learning from very good proffesors.

Congrats on being a Rice/Baylor finalist. I am aware of Rice's affiliation w/the nearby medical ctrs but Tufts is also top-notch and excellent in sciences and then there is Boston!

yes but at rice you will have all the opportunities for research you want and to explore your unterests. also, the nearby medical center fascilitates other aspects like volunteering, etc. you should also take into account exogenous factors like cost of living, etc. Houston's cost of living is def lower than boston. Rice has a unique undergrad experience, where there is small classes and you will really get to know ur proffesors and classmates. there is alot of classes in the biosciences. I guess at the end it all comes down to which one you like better. have u visited them all? are you going to Owl weekend this thrusda? and others.

How do you know Rice is better when you have never even heard of Tufts?

nspeeds...because i dont think tufts has the medical center by it... and rice is known for their strong science program.

well, serge was shooting in the dark but he hit the target...

The science is better at rice... thats for fact

i wasnt shooting in the dark...im just lazy to show i have a flashlight :D

evil kid... ;)

go to tufts

i accept what ivyhopeful22 says, but why is that?
