Rice vs UNC-Chapel Hill

Hi! I'm a high school senior crunched for time making my decision and i was wondering if anyone could help?

I'm deciding between Rice (in Houston) and UNC-Chapel Hill and I just keep going back and forth. I'm a NC resident, so UNC is (relatively) cheap for me and I am in the honors program. However, when I went to visit Rice I loved the size of the campus and the campus itself. I am a potential chemistry or math major. Help!!!

Rice is amazing; it’s so much cooler than every other school - including UNC. If you love the feel of the college, that’s what really matters.

But really cheap is hard to turn down. It depends on how big of a burden the extra cost of Rice would be on your family’s finances - so sit down and talk it out with your parents and see if they’re okay with the extra cost.

omg…im in the same exact situation and i have no idea what im going to do!!!..im shooting for a biochemistry major…any advice???

For those of you considering where to study bioengineering and biochem, have you seen Rice’s new collaborative research center that is opening this summer?
I was in the same position.

I was in the same position, too. UNC was my dream school until the beginning of senior year, when I discovered Rice. I got a little teary when I rejected their offer. . . I don’t think clicking on something has ever made me that sad. I don’t regret it, though; I <3 Rice a bunch. I sympathize.
