Rice vs. WUSTL vs. Notre Dame

I have received my acceptances and I've narrowed my choices down to these three schools. I'd like a school that has a good social scene and is not hypercompetitive. Has anyone on this board had to make the same choice? I don't know how I am supposed to pick between these options.

I've posted this in the other forums as well.

Have you visited all 3? Is your out of pocket cost about the same for each? Notre Dame is distinctly different, due to them being a Catholic school and the required religion courses.

What is your intended course of study?

After you have done your research and you still don’t know?

I bet you will do fine at Notre Dame.

How interdisciplinary is Rice? I know WUSTL has a lot of double and triple majors. Is the same possible at Rice?

^Absolutely. It does depend somewhat though on how many AP credits you bring in.

My S (first year student, but at the end of this semester he’ll be a senior in credits), is like 2 classes away from one major, 4, from another, and 7 for another (his primary major interest).

He’s very anxious for class signups as he has an amazing semester planned for next year :-).

Both Rice and Notre Dame have residential colleges. From their literature they look fairly similar in that respect. What is your intended major? Double major and minors are very common at WUSTL… does anyone know if this is also common at Rice?

^ LOL did you read the post just ahead of yours? Yes, double majors are very doable at Rice.

@crazymomster: thx:) whoops… my d will be very glad to hear that. How has your son enjoyed the residential college communities?

I’d say rice
