Rice why essay

What motivated you to apply to Rice University? Please be specific and limit your response to 200 words.

The research goal of Adilet Imambekov, a Rice University assistant professor of physics and astronomy, and mission statement for Rice University prove me Rice is an excellent place to make innovation. I want to bring forth original ideas in science other than understanding something unknown, as he focuses on creating analytic tools and writing equations to analyze the processes on the micro scale. Cherishing the idea to create, I used vigor to cooperate with my classmate writing a thesis about high-dimensions geometry and the solution of magic cube in these dimensions with certain system and functions defined by our own.

Moreover, I can get more opportunities to explore universe, in the Rice Space Institute ("RSI"). RSI proudly fosters involvement of undergraduate in furthering development of new opinions and initiating advanced research projects at the frontiers of knowledge. At Rice's multi-institutional and interdisciplinary setting, I can learn deeper knowledge from 2:1 ratio of undergraduates to graduate students in RSI.

Reading an article about Rice’s distinct identity undermined by comparing with other universities, I just want to say, Rice is not "the Harvard of the South.", but rather an ideal university to make creation.

Need proofread, I'll help you in turn.

I don’t really think this essay reflects passion for the school. Also I don’t like how you said , “Rice is not the Harvard of the South”, idk, I just find that unnecessary and it might be perceived offensively

I read an article about Rice’s distinct identity undermined by comparing with other elite universities, but for me, Rice is an ideal university to make creation

Is this one better?

I think you should include why the research goal and mission statement prove to you that Rice is a great place for creation and innovation. I agree with gthopeful93. It lacks passion and doesn’t seem much different from the first one. It sounds like you took a bunch of facts and strung them together. What’s the limit? Can you make it longer? (I did this too but it was a few months ago. Don’t remember the word limit).

Does their works can prove?
