<p>I am a rising senior from the northeast interested in Rice. I don't know anything beyond the few excepts I've found in books. I was wondering if you guys have some opinions or insights into it that might be helpful. Types of students, academics, campus life, etc, anything really I am pretty clueless. </p>
<p>BTW I'm interested in english and the humanities.</p>

<p>There has been a lot of discussion about Rice in the last 6 months. Do a search on this forum and also go to the Rice forum. There is a lot of information. It is an excellent school and offers a great college experience.</p>

I can't say enough great things about Rice. My s jsut graduated and had a phenomenal experience. Another relative is treansferring in as a soph. this coming year. She can't wait. I know of no one who has disliked their experience there. More and more are coming from the NE-- there are posters in the Rice forum from NY, MA, etc. (try searching on jenskate and peariceparent, to name a few). My S is liberal in his thinking-- very very comfortable at Rice. Great, laid back yet hard working, non cut throat environment. Good luck!!</p>
