I am looking at attending Rice and very interested in studying earth science probably environmental and I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to how strong there program is, how the teachers are, etc. Thanks!! :)

The earth science program is quite small, but it is also strong. I suggest looking through the Rice General Announcements to see course offerings. Additionally, here is the Earth Science website: [Department of Earth Science Home Page - Rice University, Houston Texas](http://www.glacier.rice.edu/). Hope this helps! Congrats on getting into Rice!

By the way, if you want to do purely environmental science, Rice is not the best place to do it due to its small size. The earth sciences, biology, civil/environmental engineering, and chemistry programs are great at Rice, but there is no environmental science department. I came into Rice wanting to do environmental science, and I ended up transferring to Duke for its environmental science program. However, if you don’t mind doing earth science, ecology/evolutionary biology, cell biology, or civil/environmental engineering instead, Rice still has great programs in these areas.
