What are some majors that typically have either a really good salary or a really high chance of making a lot of money (millions)? I know some of them are Finance and Computer Science. and could you please list how these majors go about making a lot of money. thanks :)

Average salary for Philosophy Majors is 1.5 Million.

All the kids of rich people major in philosophy/Poli sci/econ

finance + computer science :p

mba

depends what school ya go ta

Any major can get you good money if you get in a good school and know what you’re doing.

MBA doesn’t make a lot if you can’t make your company gains a lot of profit.

The highest-paying jobs belong to business owners, CEOs, etc. So you want to look at a BBA or maybe Econ for undergrad… and an MBA if you want to take your business education to the next level.

Of course, most SMBs fail within the first year and most corporate associates fail to make it to executive levels.

Med school is expensive and takes a while, but if you are patient, you’ll likely make six figures annually (maybe high five figures in rural areas).

Finance can be lucrative… with awful hours.

Ditto for Law.

Honestly, study what you love. If you are great at it, you’ll make a decent living at least. Why torture yourself in a position you loathe just to pull six figures? As long as you can pay the mortgage, car payment and other bills… pick the industry/job/major you like.

Following an academic and career path primarily based on money is pretty dumb – you’re missing the forest for the trees, IMO.

If you are willing to work for it, any kind of doctor makes a lot. Especially surgeons. But u don’t suggest you go into a career because of the money. I am very interested in becoming a surgeon but definitely not because of how much they make.

People who say be a doctor/lawyer/dentist don’t know what they’re saying. You have to have advanced degrees for all, and they all require sufficient preparation outside of school, whether they’re residencies or BAR review classes, etc. This will put you behind in the money accumulation race, and wealth nowadays is not based on how much you make, but on how much you make compare to your peers. Read the book “The Millionaire Next Door”

I had to read that book for my 8th grade econ class.

so Finance+Computer Science?

If it was easy as picking the right majors in college, everybody would do it.

Engineering typically pay wells in comparison to other majors, but not millions though.

I know of a guy who graduated with a BA in History then later on a MBA. He made about $400,000 annually for eight years. I think this “Bush” fella was President of some government institution.

Yeah well George Bush is not normal, he practically comes from a political dynasty
