<p>Are they any current students who can comment on living in the all-women dorm? I am considering it, but would like some feedback first. Also, I really want to be on healthy living, is there a healthy living floor in Richardson? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!</p>
<p>i have a friend who was really, like, sexually active in high school and was placed in Richardson. But when my jaw dropped when she told me this, she immediately was like "NO! are you kidding?! the rooms are huge. HUGE! And all the girls are amazing, I don't regret it at all."</p>
<p>I don't know if Richardson has Healthy Living...I just turned to the other guys in the room and said, "Guys, do you know where Healthy Living is on campus? Is it just the first floor of Carmichael?" and they were like "What? I thought Healthy Living didn't exist anymore because it was so unpopular, no one wanted it..." I think you'll be FINE on a floor that's not healthy living, in all honesty :-D</p>
<p>Thanks for the advice Blurinka! On my housing application I am going to have healthy living, all women, and all freshmen checked. So who knows where I'll end up! lol! I go to an all girls high school, so I think it might be a bit of leap for me to go from not being in classes with guys for four years to living next door, you know? =) I'm really not that worried, I'm sure I'll be happy wherever.</p>
<p>haha oh really? well I guess I can understand that, but a few of my really close friends here also went to all-girls' high schools (one of them was actually in an all-girls' school since KINDERGARTEN!) and they definitely welcomed and love the presence of guys lol. which isn't to say they're whores, just that it's nice to have guys around to make friends with.</p>
<p>There are also other options, though - if you live in Wren or Haskell, for example, there are single-sex suites. Meaning, you live in a suite with 8 other girls, and are separate from the other suites which are all-guys'. Also, one hall on South's 2nd floor is all-female.</p>
<p>I think I would really rather live in an all girls wing, like you explained, but the housing form says "I would prefer to live in Richardson House, the all-female hall," so I'm not sure if checking yes would limit me. Honestly though, like I said above, I'm going to have so many different things checked they'll probably just stick me anywhere. I'm going to the open house on the 24th, maybe I'll just wait until then and ask them for some more details.</p>
<p>Oh, and by the way, an all girls school since kindergarden? That's rough. =)</p>
<p>LOL, I said aloud to my boyfriend, "This girl checked off Healthy Living, all-girls', and all-freshmen." and he laughed and was like "Who KNOWS where she'll end up?" I'm sure you won't have a problem getting into Richardson, since I know girls that were put there when they didn't request all-female. And ALSO. Richardson has SUCH a good location on campus, in my opinion. It's right by the campus center, close to Dewick, across from the library and one of the closest downhill dorms to the uphill classes.</p>
<p>Yeah, and on top of being all-girls', there were like 40 girls in her graduating class, and over half had been there also since kindergarten. I can't even imagine that, and I went to a school with a grad. class of 140 where I knew everyone really well too.</p>

<p>With that said, I dont think that Richardson is a great dorm for freshman. It's very small, and I think larger dorms are better for a great freshman experience. A larger dorm would allow you to meet more people in a non-academic setting for study sessions, watching tv, or just chilling. I dont think alot of the people in richardson are freshman.</p>
<p>I think that if you want to be guaranteed an all female floor thats not part of an all female dorm, you can try the Metcalf Bridge Program. Floors are separated by gender in Metcalf, and the location is sweet. And you're not required to attend the little meetings they have.</p>
<p>Before coming to school, my friend wrote a letter about why he wanted to live in a certain dorm. I dont know if it works (and i doubt it, but he got into it anyways), but if you have alot of free time you could explain to them your preference to live in an all female wing thats not part of Richardson...and maybe they would listen...</p>

<p>that's true, Tim Li. I forgot that Richardson is pretty much a house, not really a big dorm like South. South DOES have the all female wing, it's like rooms 270 - 295 i think. Haha...two of my friends are in 295 next year :-D</p>
<p>haha it was mike cerundolo and he wanted to live in hill... I dunno what he said, but he wanted the big rooms..and he got it. But maybe he would have gotten it anyways..who knows</p>

<p>I lived in Metcalf freshman year but have friends in Richardson. I really recommend it. Big rooms, it's a house and not a "dorm" (trust me, you'll understand after a year!), and CLEANER!</p>
<p>clean is a big plus. That's why i <3 South and pity Hodgdon dwellers lol</p>
<p>If I'm an exercise nut, need to go jogging at 1am, lists hygiene, having a good view and personal space as priority, which dorm would I like?</p>
<p>I lover exercise too, but at 1 am? That's a whole 'nother level</p>
<p>lol no, I just prefer jogging when there's nobody, and is really really quiet. nice air too.</p>
