Richmond Chances?

<p>Interested in Richmond, but SAT's are horrible. Interested in what you guys have to say. Thanks!</p>

<p>Intended major: Journalism</p>

<p>SAT score: 1710, 1140 on the old scale
Rank: 4 out of 55 (yeah, it's a small school)
GPA overall: 3.6</p>

<p>Classes
All honors with like two cp classes (school didn't offer them in honors)
All other courses are college courses taken at local community college
Also on the Co-Op program, had four jobs during high school. </p>

<p>Teacher Recs- Very, very good!
Essay- Very good, too. Writing is my thing. </p>

<p>I've won lots of awards from my writing ranging from local contests to being recognized by the U.S. House of Representatives for an essay I wrote. Member of National Society of High School Scholars, National Honor Roll, and Who's Who of America High School Students. </p>

<p>If you can add a little diversity and don't come from the mid-atlantic area - it will be considered. If you are from the West or an unrepresented area - give it a shot. DO check to see if anyone from your school has attended and how they did and talk to them. Do check with local alums. Do talk to admissions counselors at school and visit if possible.</p>

<p>I'd say you have a pretty good shot, especially if you apply ED, even otherwise, though you'd probably be a lock if you could get that SAT to 1800+, and I'm almost positive Richmond looks at all 3 sections of the SAT equally.</p>
