How do you think they compare and differ? Did you apply to both?

I applied ED2 to Richmond. I visited overnight, sat in a class and went to a party on Friday night. It was really great, the kids were extremely friendly, very smart and they made me feel very comfortable ( even though I am just a lowly hs senior.) The campus is beautiful, even the classrooms are beautiful with huge windows. The dorm room I stayed in was very large, much larger than most other schools and upperclass stay in apartments on campus. It had the right feel for me. I have heard from friends who've applied, that Wake Forest is very similiar to Richmond. I did not visit because it's farther than I want to be from home, (about a 10 hour drive for me.) Wake Forest is better known because it has better sports team, but I'm sure it's great too.

The schools are quite similar, I did overnight visits at both. If you're into sports, Wake definitely has the more exciting sports teams. Both have nice campuses, but I prefer Richmond's because it has more of an old-fashioned feel whereas Wake is newer. However, Wake's classrooms are VERY nice and modern, which I liked. If you've visited UVA, Wake is similar to that, except smaller and newer. The food at Wake was great, though Richmond's was better than average. Wake is a better known school overall, and everyone there told me it takes a huge amount of work to get As. However, I don't think Richmond is any free ride either. Richmond is slightly smaller I belive. The Greek system is very popular at both, but I think Wake takes it a little more seriously. It seems as though Richmond is a lot more generous with mert-based scholarships. I hope that helps!
