Every other school I check has an ED2 date after the kids would find out about ED1. So, really, one can’t use ED2 for Richmond if they are waiting on their ED1 decision. Why would they have the timing like that? It certainly limits the number of apps that they would get ED2. And it may end up affecting D21’s strategy. Haven’t visited yet and don’t have a final list of course but not being able to use ED2 for Richmond is a bummer.
EDII deadline is Jan 1 https://admission.richmond.edu/process/index.html
The EDII deadline is January 1, however, if students wish to be considered for Richmond Scholars, they must apply by December 1. @homerdog - you may have been accidentally looking at the RS deadline.
Haha. Ok maybe I should have looked more closely. When you pull up the ED2 page, the first deadline, right at the top, says 12/1 but you guys are right. It’s for consideration for Richmond Scholars. So I wonder if one can send in the app prior to 12/1 as EA and then switch to ED2 after ED1 decisions come in.
Yes, if you look here https://admission.richmond.edu/process/early-decision-II.html under the “Dec. 1” heading, it says that one can switch from EA or RD to EDII up until January 1 by calling the admissions office.
I think this is a good strategy - apply EA so that she will be considered for RS, and then switch to EDII later if desired.
