Richmond scholar finalist

Just found out via e-mail that I'm a finalist for the Boatwright. I will be going to Richmond on 3/15- 3/17 for the interviews, etc. Who else is going? Which designations? Does anyone know how many people are finalists? Congrats to all and good luck.

this late at night? don’t they usually come out during the day?

Boatwright finalist! See you there on 3/15-3/17!!! I think there are around 100 finalists total from what I’ve heard.

mld719- It was the first opportunity I had to check my e-mail.

aw, ok. looks like i’m not getting it then :/

only boatwright finalists have been notified ???

Where are you from? Male or female? Flying, train, driving? I’m so excited that I can’t sleep!

Maybe they go out in bunches or by designations. Give it time. Good luck!

Semifinalists who are curious about the timetable for notification might find this post from 2/26/2007 to be interesting. That year, the finalist notifications apparently were sent in waves. Also, the deadline for Richmond Scholar notifications in 2007 was March 1.

hopefully that applies to this year, too! i’d really love to get the finalist…

I also received an email from U Richmond last night. Richmond Scholar Finalist.

But I am an international student, should I go to US? and will the airticket fees be covered ?

Anyone know? Please help me …

Thank you very much! :)

ohh goshh, a science designation finalist…anw, congrats :D.
Btw, the fee is paid by the school.

S2 - artist designation finalist. So excited!

Q- what are Presidential Scholarships? How much and how many? Criteria? Thanks.

^Here is the link to information about the $15,000 Presidential Scholarship:

My impression from other threads is that finalists who are not offered the full scholarship are offered Presidential Scholarships. Also, National Merit Finalists (and related finalists) are strongly considered for Presidential Scholarships.

So far, two people have reported being Boatwright Finalists, one has reported being a Science Finalist, and one has reported being an Artist Finalist on CC.

I’m thinking they’re all (or at least a great majority are) out. To add to those on here-two people from my school posted on Facebook that they were notified (one Science, one Artist).

Boatwright finalist too… Can’t go though, im an international student so they said they’d skype interview me… The email I got said they had around 4700 applications to RS, then around 470 semi finalists. I have to assume that like a 100 at most remain so its almost going to be 50-50 here… lets hope our darts land on the better half…

Congrats everyone who made it this far… Pity I can’t meet all o you… Kinda wierded out at the thought of not knowing the competition. =O

Son accepted as Artist Scholar finalist, learned by email Friday. We only live 7 miles from U of R, no travel expenses for us!

i’m an artist scholar finalist
i’m so excited and so nervous at the same time haha
i’m coming from NJ

huh. seems like no oldham scholars have been notified yet. maybe they’re waiting till monday? i surely hope so…
