Richmond Scholars class of 2018

^^ I think only the finalists are guaranteed at least $15000/year scholarship. But I could be wrong.

semifinalists get nothing =P finalists get (as txhandan stated) a $15k/year scholarship. Scholars of course get a lot more.

Does anybody know when and how finalist notification is sent out? Im very anxious to know whether I got anything because the scholarship is the only way I will be able to attend due to financial situation!

^ mid feb I think and money is a huge issue for most of us.

I’m happy being a finalist as well since Richmond promises to meet full demonstrated need of every admitted student.

Good luck to everyone:) I’m a semifinalist and my sister is a current scholar so if you have any questions about the process feel free to message me or whatever and I can ask her for you:)

well, mid feb is approaching and I am really really anxious to know the finalist decisions. Can someone please tell me the exact date of the results notification so that I may hoist out the prayer mat and spend the remaining days before the results hoping and praying =P

With you on that, @AltoLime ! Super anxious

each of us has about a 25% chance of becoming a finalist. It is strange how I have always perceived a 10-20% chance as gettable for me but I am scared and anxious as hell about this scholarship =P Are you guys feeling the same way? Tick tock, decisions approach.

also, I hear that a lot of individuals who don’t even become finalists get confirmation of admission at the time of the release of the finalist list. Is this true? And does Richmond live up to its ‘we meet 100% of demonstrated need’ policy?

Hello Altamash,

Richmond Scholars program will be sending out emails after February 15th to all finalists. You should probably hear if you are moving forward by February 18th.
Those who are not advancing should her by letter within the following week.

^ so mark february 15th on your calendar.

It looks like U of Richmond will interview finalists via Skype (except for the Artist Scholars who need to be on campus for the audition). All references to the mid March Finalist Weekend have been removed from the website.

I was hoping that it would be an in-person interview. Skype is so iffy.

^ agreed. And in my country the internet isn’t very good =/ That means definite interruptions during the interview.

It’s 2/15, has anyone heard back about Scholars? Hoping we hear back today!

Checking my email every 10 mins, defiantely not healthy :P

haven’t heard anything yet. Do we get an email or letter mail? I’m an international applicant so how do you think it will work for me?

Wow…this waiting is getting rough  has anyone heard anything? Perhaps the snow has slowed things down?? Perhaps the offices were closed on Friday?? And today is a holiday…still holding on to hope that emails go out today though…

I’m getting really annoyed. If any sort of confirmations would have been sent out, we would have found out by now through the internet. Apparently, there have been no decisions sent yet. I agree with agador, it might be the snow.
