Hey everyone! They are notifying winners right now! Just got a call that I got the artist scholar!

My son just received a call notifying him that he’s a Science Scholar! Congrats to all those chosen…we’ll see you in Richmond in a couple of weeks.

Was notified that I am a Robins Science Scholar! So excited for the opportunities at Richmond! And the call was so nice :)

Just notified that I am a Boatwright Scholar. See you guys in a few!

What # did the call come from (or the last 4 digits)? We received a call here from Richmond at about 4:45, but weren’t home.

@LoveToRead2009 I don’t know the number, but it showed up on my CallerId as University of Richmond.

It would be really helpful for future applicants if a couple of the scholars could post their stats. :)

@hezekiel Boatwright scholar here. I had a 34 ACT, never took SATs, 4.0 uw gpa and 4.2 (maybe I don’t remember) w gpa. My application essays were well done. NHS president, student council, and some history bowl/JETS type stuff where we got pretty far in major tournaments. Mediocre teacher recs, awesome guidance counselor rec. I have a few varsity letters (although I’m positive these didn’t mean much, I’m not the most athletic) and some really solid research/job experience and lots of volunteering in things I’m passionate about. Eagle scout, and a few minor school awards.

Once nominated as a scholar you have to submit additional essays/materials and then will be asked to interview if they liked your additional materials. When you submit additional info you apply to 2 designations. I applied to the science one and the boatwright one. I thought my science essay was good but I didn’t get it so I guess it wasn’t good enough. And my boatwright essay was an essay I received a mid b on in 11th grade english, so who knows whats up with that. Best of luck to all future applicants

Thanks a lot @xcrunner4 ! :D

Yup no worries

So how have y’all liked your experience there so far?
