Anyone know the timing of when you here if you are up for any of the Richmond Scholars Scholarships?

They said they do them in batches in December and January

Hopefully someone will post when they get something in January

Do they tell you if your rejected or do they just notify semifinalists?

They do not send a rejection because you don’t actually apply for it. All applicants are considered for the scholarship.

My daughter received the semifinalist email today. At least 1 batch of emails has gone out. She has 2 weeks to send in her materials.

@ladyengineer2012 what were her stats? And congratulations!

Thanks.

Her stats are:
ACT : 36
GPA : 4.0 UW

She was very excited because she was deferred by Georgetown today. Go figure…

Ladyengineer2012, Was your daughter Early Decision or Regular Decision?

She applied RD and submitted her application around 11/21.

Want to encourage nervous seniors to be patient. It might take the admissions office a little more time to find those outstanding applicants to send the semifinalist email to. Good test scores are easy to flag. Amazing essays and/or ECs take more work to find but are just as valid in selecting Richmond Scholars semifinalists.

A lot of you will be selected because you are amazing students and citizens. Keep checking your email box and be prepared to send in your materials when required to do so.

You need to submit a junior or senior year paper for Boatwright.
You need supplementary arts materials for Artist. (can be found on admissions website)
You need to write an essay for Oldham (community service).
You need to discuss your science research project for Science.

Good luck to all of you.

My middle daughter was notified yesterday that she is a semi-finalist. She submitted her application in late November. Her older sister is a Richmond Science scholar, loves UR (so do we!), and is doing very well there.

Got notification for semi-finalist. Application submitted on 12/05.

Hi, I was notified that I was a semi-finalist on the 20th. Does anyone know how exactly we are supposed to send in the required materials for our designations?

Would love to know stats of all those who were chosen.

I received my semi-finalist notification on the 20th and I submitted all my materials a few days ago! I am very excited for the opportunity. I applied to Oldham and Boatwright. How about you guys?

Could anyone tell us the last date of notification for short listing Internationals ? I’m a bit worried now - still no news.

Daughter received semi finalist notification email last night. She’s thrilled! Going for the Boatwright and artist scholar designations. We are pretty certain her achievements in music earned her the semi finalist designation.

Does anyone know if the semi finalists are typically awarded some scholarship money even if they don’t make it to the final round?

@agador I was wondering that too! I know that as semi-finalists our odds of getting into the school are pretty good but I have no clue where it goes in terms of scholarship money

According to the admissions blog post on the website about the scholars semi finalist notifications, as long as your first semester grades are high, you should expect to hear “good news”. They specifically state that semi finalists are at the top of the applicant pool. I feel pretty confident admission decisions have already been made for the semi finalists.

Richmond Scholar Semi-Finalist

My stats are:
ACT : 1590/2370
GPA : 3.8 UW

I’m really excited. I toured the campus this summer and it is beautiful. Optimal class sizes and strong campus spirit, amongst other characteristics, propel Richmond to the very top of my wish list.

Will being a URM have any bearing on my chances? Honest thoughts please.

Thank you, good luck to all semi-finalists!
