Richmond Scholars Notification

Would I get something in the mail or by e-mail?

The semi finalists are sent an email.

I just got an email for being selected as a semi finalist from University of Richmond!
I’m an International student from Pakistan and my stats are,

SAT 1 - 2030 (CR690 M700 VW640)
Weighted GPA - 4.0

I think I got shortlisted on the basis of my strong extracurricular profile thought.
Anyone know the chances for admission of a semi finalist ?

Semifinalist!

SAT: 2060
GPA: 3.6-3.7 gpa UW 4.0 W

Where are we supposed to submit materials?

wow, you are still finding out. nothing here, 33 act and 4.05ish

I am starting to lose hope… 4.5 WGPA and 2310 SAT. I feel like I have the credentials.

Science and im between boatwright and oldham rn…

For those who havent gotten anything yet, make sure to check your junk folder cuz thats where my semifinalist notification ended up!

Just got notified on Friday that I’m a finalist (and I have to turn stuff in on Tuesday. Yikes!)… My stats aren’t particularly outstanding from the list I’ve seen so far:

2150 SAT (1470 two score)
95/100 GPA

I think the main reason I got it was for my ECs. Ironically, I left off really important ECs/awards (Nominated as a Wells Scholarship Applicant and volunteered since ninth grade for a local junior golf program).

To those who are worried about not getting a semi-finalist spot: There is still a lot of time left. Notifications keep coming till late January or early February.

I submitted my essays (for oldham and boatwright) a few days ago but I sent them in a day late. However, I explained that I was having some problems. I have not gotten any sort of reply from Richmond to my emails following that. Can someone give me their views on this situation since I am confused =/

Also, if we are talking stats [as I have observed above]: 2280 (R 800 M 760 W 720). My commonapp is pretty good. Richmond specific supplement was great. Scholars submissions: Boatwright is good and Oldham is great and innovative. ECs are pretty good. International Student (Pakistan). Oh and teacher recommendations are, my counselor tells me) killer good [but I doubt how much they matter].

Still waiting…1550 SATs, 4.0 unweighted GPA, 2 Varsity sports and captain of 1, community service and many extracurriculars and haven’t heard anything yet. How did everyone hear? email or mail? What needs to be submitted once you do make semifinalist?

You will hear via an email. The admissions blog says they send them out in waves through the month if January, so more are coming. Don’t be discouraged.

There are specific requirements that need to be submitted based on the scholar designation ex: a one page essay, artist statement, resume, recordings of audition pieces, there was also an option to submit a graded paper, etc. They only give you about 10 days or so to submit your work, so it’s nothing too extensive or difficult.

Good luck to everyone!

Thanks agador. Appreciate the info. Guess I have to sit and be patient. Am getting a little concerned that I am running out if time given when my application was sent back in October

Sorry for the duplicate post … not sure how that happened ??!

Other than calling, how do we know our essays were received?
I sent them by email

Disregard my previous confusion about whether or not my scholarship essays have been received. The admissions office just told me that I can view this information on my bannerweb (next to the other usual applications material confirmation thingies). So, the received my essays  and they were processed on 7th. It is 13th today. How long do they normally take to go through the sent material and reach a decision about the scholarship?

Sorry if this has been asked before…Do ED1 students generally get semifinalist scholars? I know the school says they are in the same pool and can be scholars. However, I wonder how accurate this is. For any that got semifinalist notification this year, were you ED1 applicants? Thanks!
