Richmond Scholars Notification

For anyone who applied by December 1st, when can we expect to start receiving notifications for the Richmond Scholars Program?

I’m thinking the week of the 22nd or 29th, because they stated in a blog post that Richmond scholars finalist notifications would go out after EA notifications and EA decisions will be mailed by the 20th.

I received an acceptance letter and Presidential Scholarship in the mail today. Does that mean I’m out of the running for Richmond Scholars?

Probably, my S got the same thing.

Have you all read the blog entry about the Richmond Scholars procedure? It was posted on the UR Admission blog on December 1st. From reading that blog and the comments and answers underneath, it sounds like receiving the Presidential doesn’t mean you’re not in the running for Richmond Scholars. The person writing the blog and responding to comments indicates that they are totally separate procedures and that a student can receive the Presidential and then get Richmond Scholars, which would replace the Presidential Scholarship.

My D didn’t get a presidential, so I was hoping that meant she was in the running for Richmond Scholars, but I’m not at all confident about that after reading the blog and comments.

Thanks Emmy, good to know. M

Richmond notified me of my selection as a finalist for the Richmond Scholars program.through e-mail just now.
My top choice is Richmond Scholar. very happy Best of luck to all of you friends!

I dont know if what Krishna said is true but i did get an email about my selection as a finalist.

@eudebs Congrats! Would you mind posting your stats?? Or did they say why you stuck out to them by chance?

I got my notification of being chosen as a finalist yesterday! It was so unexpected lol cus my application was deffered

@class22 Thanks!!! 1550 with a 3.9. I got the sense the email was sent to all finalists so it wasn’t personalized as such. They did mention that they fully recognize " academic excellence and the pursuit of knowledge." I dont know if that helps. Hope it does.

If I didnt get an email yet, does that mean my application wasn’t considered?

@chrismc on the admissions blog it says they have started notifying finalists and the admissions twitter will announce when all finalists have been notified

For those that received email notification, who is it from and what does it say exactly?

No email yet here although I would think they have finished notifying the candidates by now. Has everyone received an email?

it doesn’t seem like many were notified or at least not on this site, and the admissions blog said a tweet would go out when they’ve finished notifying candidates so hopefully they’re not done!

I received my Richmond Scholars email this morning! I also got a presidential scholarship, so that award does not disqualify you for the Scholars program. Hope this helps!

Could someone that got the Richmond Scholars email tell me if the subject line was something along the lines of “greetings from Richmond…”? S received an with that subject line as he was opening the email the server logged him off and now he can not retrieve the email (not in saved, old, deleted, etc…)

My daughter was honored and thrilled to be named a Richmond Scholar Finalist, so I though I would post some information for those wondering about the process. She received notification via e-mail on January 25th. The subject line of the e-mail is “Richmond Scholar Finalist Invitation”.

The e-mail says in part “You were chosen from more than 7,900 scholar applicants as one of 75 finalists.”

Also, at https://scholars.richmond.edu/, there is a banner that reads, “All Richmond Scholar Finalists for the Class of 2022 have been notified via email.” Based on that, it seems that the finalist selection is over for this year.

My daughter was accepted EA and did receive the Presidential Scholarship along with her acceptance.

I hope this is helpful!

fantastic news @cmfl11 ! Even if your daughter does not end up getting the Richmond Scholarship, I read that she is guaranteed a Presidential Scholarship. So good job either way.
