Theman44, I’m in the same boat as you!!! I’m just as freaked out, so we can be freaked out together.

I go into things like this expecting the best, which is STUPID, so I need to remember that whatever happens happens. But let me tell you I am certainly freaking out along the way.

My son received notification that he is a semi-finalist, however he did not receive a letter of acceptance. Therefore he doesn’t have the necessary information to submit the requested supplemental material. I suppose he’ll try to contact the college sometime this week to find out how to submit the information without a student ID number. Is anyone else facing the same dilemma?

I applied RD and was notified on 12/18/10 and now they want my supplemental materials to be in by 01/03/10. I thought that was weird because does that mean the people who got the semi-finalist letters later on would submit their materials in like 3 days?

Candycane11, the student ID number is supplied in an application acknowledgment letter mailed from the admissions office. My son’s letter was mailed 1 week after his application was submitted. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know when finalist notification comes out? Does that, too, come in waves depending on when you submitted your semi-finalist information? I submitted mine for the 1/3 deadline and I’m SO FREAKING OUT about the finalist thing.

Candycane11, I guess this is too late now, but for future reference in this thread you don’t need an ID number to submit supplementary materials; they don’t even ask you to give one. I guess the number of semifinalists for each deadline is small enough that they just ask you for your name and what designation you want. That’s what I did and it was processed fine. To check if they recieved it or not, you need your Bannerweb log in, but you can do that by calling admissions if you really need to.

theman44: My son received an e-mail today notifying him of his semi-finalist status, so it appears that another wave of notifications has gone out.

can people who were notified post their stats?
and were you early decision?
im quite baffled because I really hoped and thought I would be getting one

If they are following the same format that they’ve used in the previous few years, they will notify semifinalists in batches starting in mid December and continue through January. I would not give up hope yet.

My son applied regular decision. As for stats, GPA 4.3 W, 4.0 UW; SAT I: 2380, SAT II’s: 800 Math II, 750 Biology. He’ll have 12 AP classes upon graduation – All 5’s on those he’s taken so far.

My D received an email today notifying her of semi-finalist status.
32 ACT
4.3 w gpa
3.95 uw
Great letters of rec. Great essay and great EC.
IB Diploma
Applied end of November, regular decision.
Good luck to all, I hope you hear soon!

Congrats to all who heard in this second wave. I know my daughter’s application was being reviewed last week but she has not heard anything. Since some notifications have been sent out, I am not very optimistic.

Hope you are right. Son applied and got in ED, and with excellent credentials(for regular admissions or ED) and I was secretly hoping for a shot at Richmond scholars. Haven’t heard a peep. He loved Richmond in every way which is why he applied ED so the scholars program would be just icing on the cake. Good luck to everyone.
