If someone who has received the Richmond Scholar scholarship, would you share your test scores, GPA’s, etc? Trying to understand the profile of a typical recipient. Thank you
There is no “typical” recipient… Richmond Scholars is not based on test scores, GPA, etc. You have to meet a certain minimum (not released, but you have to have done well), but it is more based on what you have done outside of school and your classes that makes you exceptional.

I’m a current junior Richmond Artist Scholar (for music) and my objective stats were not as high as many of my fellow scholars here (I was solidly midpack at my high school, an extremely competitive STEM magnet school). But I had a lot I’d done outside of my academic classes, especially with music. I was first in the state on my instrument (as well as first in the district), placed in competitions (including several first place), soloed multiple times with a local youth orchestra (that I was principal of for four years), had done summer music programs, was in multiple ensembles at school (wind ensemble, full orchestra, 2 choirs, 2 jazz bands) and outside school (youth orchestra, band, and chamber ensembles). I also danced since I was really young and had some accomplishments there (intensive ballet program w/pointe work, reached highest level at studio in one style, choreographed my own senior solo for the recital, etc). I was also involved in other clubs at my high school, with leadership positions and accomplishments in those as well.
