I submitted it on 12/15 (well, it was shortly after midnight 12/16 in my country, but in Virginia it was still evening). However, I havent received any confirmation from the UR, while Washington and Lee sent an email very quickly. Should I be afraid?

I applied on September 29th and didn’t receive anything from them until October 20th, so I wouldn’t worry. If you are nervous about it, give admissions a call to confirm their receipt.

wow, so early? At that time I had almost no idea that UR even exists… Well, I’m not sure to which schools I’ll apply.

Yeah, I wanted to get them done as early as possible, so I can enjoy my senior year relatively stress free.

I’d like that too, but it’s kinda more difficult for me as an international and moreover, I have that bad habit of doing everything on the last moment…

Sharonohio, you’re a pretentious prat and you’re probably way undeserving of your daughter.

gabby1116 responded to her very cleverly though.

Btw do you have any idea how much money does UR give to international students outside of Richmond Scholars? I dont really believe I have a shot on RS with 2120 SAT, 3.83 UW, some (imo) not very impressive ECs and no hook.

I tried…Like she said i don’t think it was the answer she wanted to hear (or atleast I hope it wasn’t) :)

Hahaha, good for you

Maybe I missed something, but I didn’t sense any of that in her response. Obviously the reason Gabby posted this thread was to get a sense of what the “cutoff”, so to speak, is for Richmond Scholars. Sharonohio’s daughter had a perfect ACT score and perfect GPA that could not get any higher, meaning that information is not helpful in determining the range of scores for the scholarship, hence why it’s not the answer Gabby was looking for…does that make sense?

I’m going for the Richmond Scholars program and am a 2014’er.

Good luck to everyone else who applied.

Happy Holidays!

I submitted my application (and supplement) online on Dec 14th (the cutoff), but I just got an email today saying that they received my application. Do I still have a chance to be a semi-finalist?

Dunno, I send it on 15th and I’m in doubts too.

I don’t believe they announce finalists for a couple more months. Go to their website and go the Admissions page. There is a link to Admissions Blog and one is titled “Richmond Scholars - Where do we go from here?”. I believe that tells you. I would look it up but I’m at work and it is blocked.

Hm…on the website, it says apps must be postmarked by December 15, so I guess it’s okay as long as the application is submitted online by the 15th…because it cannot be postmarked.

From the Richmond website:

In the interest of expediency, semifinalists are notified in batches, not all at the same time — some semifinalists may be notified in late December, others not until mid- or late January. We do this so the faculty committees can get started as quickly as possible considering semifinalists who have selected a designation and submitted additional materials. The order of notification depends simply on when applicant files are reviewed, and it tends to be fairly random, although it may correlate slightly (but not necessarily) to the order in which they are received.

I guess they wont even notify me, because my stats are really bad compared to other applicants…

^found link through the U of R website. I think I typed “Richmond Scholars Report” in the search box of the U of R website and this link popped up.

got my notification today! i’m excited. i need to get my materials together. anyone else?
