Richmond VS. Davidson

Would anyone be willing to compare/contrast UR and Davidson? Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks.

This link is a year old, but has a lot of info:

Thanks so much. Do you have an opinion?

Our daughter is at UR, a sophomore political science major, and she loves the school. She came out of a private school where she had taken five AP courses and the rest honors, so she finds the workload challenging, but felt very prepared. But, comparatively speaking, Davidson is a much more rigorous school in terms of academics and admissions. For example, one of her best friends attends Davidson, on a full merit scholarship, graduated at the top of their HS class, and even she finds Davidson extremely difficult and the work load nearly impossible. As for physical environment, we’ve been to Davidson as well, and it is a pretty campus! It is a lot smaller than UR, and that can make a difference to some. It is really close to Charlotte, which is a plus, just like UR being in Richmond is a plus (and close to DC also a plus).

Thanks. This is very helpful- appreciate your time!

My daughter was accepted at UR and DC last year and Richmond’s fin aid was superior. If you are a VA resident, a tuition assistance grant from the state will save you $10K-$12K over 4 years. I’m not sure if NC has similar assistance for it’s residents.

Thanks- this is good to know!
