ride to airport for Oct break?

We made a mistake and got tickets for our son at the wrong airport (Cedar Rapids/Iowa City) for Oct break. People from the college told us TWICE that there were shuttles to both airports.

Is anyone driving to and from this area on Oct. 20 and 28? Long shot, I know.

hm.. not sure this is the best place to advertise that. I don't think that many Grinnellians come on here

Yeah, I figured it was worth a shot. It's a good sign that not many Grinnell students hang around here--they're just too busy! I got lots of good advice on the Parents Cafe.

I work at Grinnell College. I will be very likely to pass by Iowa City on Sunday, Oct. 28 (some time in the afternoon) on the way back to Grinnell from Ilinois. If you don't find anyone to give your son a ride, feel free to contact me at dinhkhoi@grinnell.edu

Hi: I forgot to also mention in the previous post that if you can't find a way to go to the airport on Oct. 20, you're welcome to email me.

Did you try contacting the shuttle service referenced on the Grinnell website?
From the website...
There is an airport shuttle service to take you to or pick you up from the Cedar Rapids Airport for approximately $80 (second person rides for an additional $20). Please note that reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. Airport Shuttle Service (located across from Baggage Claim One) 1-800-725-8460 (<a href="http://www.crshuttle.com%5B/url%5D">www.crshuttle.com</a>)
Also, the website says there's a cab service. Jewell Cab Company 641-236-4411
Getting in and out of Grinnell can be a challenge. If the flights aren't timed perfectly, your kid can end up waiting for hours.

Yes, thank you snorky. I finally found that, but it wasn't referenced in the parent's handbook or in the place on the Grinnell website they told us to look. So it took some effort to find it. Looks like the Des Moines airport is a better bet for future flights! So far, my son's experience at Grinnell has been worth a few challenges with travel.
