I visited yesterday and am impressed with the small, community campus. Does anyone else: know anything about this school, attend here, or are applying? Thanks for your help:)

My son graduated from Rider last year. He liked the campus a lot, it's small and friendly. Business and Education seem to be the strongest departments.

thanks for your input!

I know you posted on this thread over a month ago, but I just wanted to give you some input.

I'm an overnight volunteer for Special Olympics, and last year my group was stationed in Rider University dorms ... and quite frankly, they really stunk. Cinder block, dirty floors ... and the bathrooms were horrible ... it was hell getting all the girls to wash at the same time.

I did, however, see that sense of community ... on the cinder blocks outside some of the rooms, certain blocks were designed by a person ... it had their name, class, a drawing, etc ... it was cute. But still, not enough to overlook the conditions of the dorms.

Anyway, Rider University is fine itself ... but I'd avoid the dorms. And maybe it was just the one dorm we stayed in. :)

Thanks for your input! I am going to plan an overnight there, and I think they are doing some construction for new dorms so that would be awesome :D. I think the campus is really nice though, and nice ppl there 2.

If they're making new dorms then that's definitely a plus!

My friend really likes Rider U ... she was accepted about a month ago ... I think it's a toss up for her between Rider U - Rowan U - and College of NJ ...

Hope everything works out!

Hey thanks for your help! I live about 10 minutes from Rowan, I also got accepted there. Which schools are you looking at philosophia?

I applied to (it's easier to list):

Brown University - ED deferred :(
Bowdoin College - (woot! just had my interview today!)
Brandeis University
Northwestern University
University of Vermont - accepted

I ... uh... don't want to stay in NJ. lol ... I REALLY need to get away from the people at my school and everyone mostly stays in NJ for college, so I'm leaving ... :)

It's cool that you live 10 minutes away from Rowan, my friend liked it too ... she said there was a community sense and that everyone was really friendly. Where else did you apply michelec?

I applied to:

Rosemont College- Accepted
Immaculata University- Accepted
Cabrini College- Accepted
Rider University- Accepted
Rowan University- Accepted
Ursinus College- waiting...
Villanova University- waiting...

Yea I'll find out from the other 2 in April...

It's awesome you found out where you got accepted to already (well, besides the other two) ... I've got to wait ... and wait ... and wait ... at least I didn't apply to Yale (like I could ever see myself at Yale, but we'll just go with it) b/c their decision day is April 10 ... 10 days later than Brown! It would kill me!

I was going to apply to Ursinus, but their dorms are the pits . . .lol ... makes Rider look like a palace. ha! lol, good school though ... just have to work on the living conditions. ;)

good luck wherever you choose to go. :)

Hey philosophia! Thanks for all your help, I liked Urisinus because they have a really nice dorm for upperclassmen, so ill just have to tough it out for a few yrs. ttyl! :)
