Ridgecrest West Dimensions & Factoids

We are from OOS and had no problem. D even had space in her closet. We used those (as seen on tv closet organizers) that let you hang 5 items in the space of 1 ! I was surprised they lasted because they are just plastic hanger material. It really worked!

We also used the plastic drawers under the bed.

My only other suggestion is to get a spring rod for some drapes. Even with the blinds pulled the room is very light. But my D likes to power nap in a dark room. The windows are pretty wide so we ended up using a thick cotton shower curtain for half the cost of a thinner curtain. Did the trick, darkened the room!

^^

The newer ones (which you probably have) have cut-out opening holes to put in hangers. The old style weren’t like that and could be hard to get clothes out.

The above ones aren’t plastic, but the plastic ones like that work just as well - as long as the holes have cut-out openings.

Another option is to use some of the top shelf in the closet to fold out of season clothes and shoes.

I believe we picked up those hanger organizers at Target. They are available at most stores with dorm stuff!

For some reason, the link provided above by m2ck didn’t work for me. In case it didn’t for others, here are two more.

Any experts out there recommend one vs. the other?

Omama: re: the curtain. What is the width of the rod that you bought? I’ve been wondering about that…

D lived in Riverside (loved it!) Used the pool often…

Anyways the window measurements are listed on the housing web page.
Ds were 44x66.

Has anyone ordered from this site [College Dorm Bedding -Dorm Bedding-Dorm Room Bedding- Collage dorm bedding-Dorm Suite Dorm](http://www.dormsuitedorm.com) a couple of the girls suggested it when I was speaking with them at Greek Preview. Just was looking for someone who had actually used them.

I have been searching the threads looking for an answer but so far have not found exactly what I needed. My roommates and I are looking to put a rug, specifically the one linked below, in the living room area. Does anyone know how big the coffee table is. We would like to put the rug under it. Basically, I am just wondering if we should order the rug in the 3’x5’ size or the 5’x7’ size. Thanks in advance for any and all help!

IIRC, it is a normal sized coffee table. I’d go with the larger rug.

… ditto …

My S thanks me almost every day for this ingenious shower curtain:

Dads… please don’t bring a rubber mallet to adjust the beds!!!

More and more, we’re seeing beds damaged, and in some buildings, the drywall damaged because the student or family tried to adjust the bed with a mallet.

If you can’t do it without a mallet, let us know and we will make every effort to adjust it as quickly as possible during move in so that you can get settled with your bed at the desired height.

If you damage the bed and/or the walls, you will see a damage bill on your student account at the end of the year.

Thanks for your help!

Speaking of beds…we are considering making a dust ruffle for DD’s dorm. I see that the maximum height is 33 inches but what other height options are there? She doesn’t want it at the max height or the lowest height, somewhere in between. Any tips on creating the dust ruffle would be greatly appreciated!

Everything you always wanted to know about dust ruffles was shared here by the multi-talented bamagirls. Dust ruffles and moonshine. Impressive!

I have often thought that some of the topics on this forum would make for a great reality TV show. :)

Aw, you’re such a sweetie, Class2012mom!:)

If anyone needs a set of the rods, let me know. I have a set I’ll give you for free since we aren’t using them anymore. I’d be happy to drop them off in Tuscaloosa.:)

Sent you a PM, bamagirls. Let me know if you don’t get it.

I received it and just sent you one back. :)

Does anyone have the measurement for the width of the bed frame in Ridgecrest West? Trying to make a headboard and want to make sure it will fit.

36x80
