Ridiculous Amount of ED Applicants?

does anyone else have a ton of people from their school applying early to college this year? for my class it's 204/290 people applying early and close to 50% at ivies, stanford, or mit.

27 upenn
24 yale
19 columbia
17 brown
12 stanford

that is ridiculous amount of ed applicants.

in my school only about 30 out of 420 is applying ED, and about 20 of them to stanford.

That is typical at very competitive schools.

Yep, like suze said, it is rather typical.

at hotchkiss, basically everyone's applying early...more than 70% ivies or stanford or their LAC counterpart

lol there is probably like 5 people at my school who applied early to ivy leagues

The kids at my school are so damn secretive that I don't even know. Why do people play those games where they won't share their school choices even after the app was submitted?

Andrw313, you should be a little more sensitive to other people’s feelings. The so-called “damn secretive” students are not necessarily “playing games.” I can understand how some students might be concerned about their rejection from a particular school becoming public knowledge. It’s hard enough to weather the pain of a rejection in private. Choosing a potential college is a very personal decision, and quite frankly, it’s nobody else’s business. If a student wants to share his list of schools where he is applying, that’s fine because that’s his decision. The student who doesn’t want to share has the same right to make his own decision too.

I'm the only kid I know from my 560-person public school who applied early anywhere (Penn)

at the school to which eskimogirl is referring, which i also attend, the students are just as secretive. the deans release the above numbers, with no names attached, to curious students, if they ask.

2 of us applying early to ivy leagues (both to Princeton!)

me and this other kid are applying ED to JHU. He has three legacies =(
