<p>I have not seen my father since I was 5 so can I just put Unknown in the case "Father" of the common app, and will the teachers who write my references see that ?
Is it like, gonna hurt my admission chances or something like that ?</p>

<p>Definitely put in ‘Unknown’ for your father and as much other information as you know about him. Your teachers cannot see any information on your application; they only know that you’ve invited them to complete a recommendation for you and for which colleges you are sending their recommendation.</p>
