I am going into my last year of high school this fall and trying to plan what to do and where to go after graduation. I am aiming to become a veterinarian, so I've been looking at pre-vet programs. However, I would like to be in a riding program as well. I have my own horse and was hoping I could take him with me. Does anyone have ideas as to where I could go, and which universities offer those programs?

Mount Holyoke College is great if you don’t mind going to a single-sex school. I’m in your position except I have a lease on a pony so I won’t be bringing him. If you go to the IHSA website, it lists all competing schools on an intercollegiate level and you can go from there. Also you could ask your trainer, she/he will probably know most of the coaches in the area.

Oh, okay, thanks! I think I’ve found a couple that look pretty good. Mount Holyoke College is in Massachusetts, so I don’t think that will work for me (I’m in the west - Alberta). I think I’ll take a closer look at University of California-Davis and UBC. Thanks though!
