Hey so I'm gonna be in RH for summer, and I'm curious to get the opinions of people who have some experience with hall life. We got a double at the literal end of the North side, right next to the stairs. Is that going to be like my worst nightmare? It's already looking annoying because we're next to the women's bathroom and like as far as possible from the men's. Just looking for opinions on layout/noise issues for anyone familiar with the placement of our room.

Rieber Hall in the summer is fine, it's not as loud as it is during the year, which is incomparable to Dykstra this year and Sproul next year.

Right next to the stairs will not be annoying, it will be a lot quiter than you think it is, if this is your concern. Everyone will be taking the elevator, sometimes even people who live on the second floor.

As regards to living across from the restroom, it's not that bad. People don't hang out in the restroom .. they do their business and leave. The only problem you might face is the daily noise starting at 730AM, but you get used to that. If you're really tidy and high maintenance, you'd hate the residential hall bathrooms.

From my experience last summer, I thought that living in the hall would be a great social experience. It turned out that my floor was dead; about half of the people on the floor were international students. So in all, you'll enjoy the peace, and you should go out to meet people from different floors if your floor is dead.

how is sproul?

sproul is godly
