Right now school sucks

I seriously don't know why I am struggling so much in sophomore year. I took all honors in freshman year. ( DID OK 3.92 W GPA)

The marking period ends on the 11th of November... and i feel depressed and saddened when looking at my grades. They have never been this bad before.

APUSH B+/A-
Chem H B- MY AVERAGE DROPPED 8 POINTS THIS WEEK ( I feel i struggle here)
Alg 2/ Trig Honors B
English 10 H - A-/A
Intro to Business A+ STUPID CLASS
Spanish 3 regular B/B-
Gym ????/A
Biology H A-

Like seriously HOW CAN I IMPROVE THESE GRADES TO THE A- or B+ range??
Should I STUDY LIKE A BEAST UNTIL the 11th? >.<

Calm down. It isn't the end of the world. Just study harder, that's all there is to it.

As and Bs. Not bad. Focus on the ones that you know you can get to an A, but if you have a 80.0 in Chem, just try and keep it at a B, and remember that it's not hideous.

Don't beat yourself up.

Consider homeschooling. Grades are stupid and arbitrary and are made to make people feel like this... try to read this book: Amazon.com: The Teenage Liberation Handbook: How to Quit School and Get a Real Life and Education: Grace Llewellyn: Books . Check it out at the library if possible.

Also, if you're having trouble in chemistry, it's one of my favorite subjects and I will try to help if there's anything specific you're struggling with.

Good luck and remember that grades aren't everything, and even if you do choose to accept the grade system, yours aren't terribly bad anyways.

You have better grades than I do.

I'm a sophomore too and I had the same GPA freshman year. I have 3 B's in AP U.S. Government, Honors Algebra 2, and Honors English so we are pretty much in the same situation and it sucks. My marking period ends even sooner than yours so you are luckier than I am.. if that makes you feel better.

Right now? School always sucks. Get your facts straight.

It's cause you're taking APUSH.

That class, coupled with my English teacher, kills my self esteem.

Those grades aren't really that bad... at all. Sure, a B- might not be the best, but it's not exactly horrible either. Don't stress over such trivialities; they really don't count for much in the long run.

If you really want to improve them, just allocate more time to the subjects in need. You'll not benefit from growing depressed or sad; remember how silly all of this is and proceed from there. ;]

It's only going to suck worse. It's the first rule of school.

It's marked true for me ever since kindergarten. It's been a downhill ride since.

Try harder.

As a freshman, I only had a 3.75 UW (We couldn't have honors outside of English, which wasn't weighted anyway.)

So I took..

Physics
Health and Gym (2 classes)
Spanish 2
Spanish 3
Algebra 2
EnglishH 1
Journalism 1

I got pretty owned in journalism/math due to own laziness partially. I learned from my mistakes in sophomore year and stepped it up.

APES
AP Bio
AP Calc
AP Euro
EnglishH 2

W GPA of 4.5 that year. (Odd calculation at our school, 4.5 is basically all A's for AP)

All A's. You just have to try harder. Dedicate weekend time if you have to.

A little fatalism always helps.
