Hey guys, I am currently a rising Junior. Looking ahead, I am planning to shoot for some of the big-time schools: MIT, Stanford and Yale. I just wanted to post what I have accomplished in my first two years of high school, so you could tell me if I am heading in the right direction for the mentioned schools, and what I might need to do to improve my chances.

I have been in the most accelerated set of classes in mathematics and science (took summer classes). Here are my Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior class schedules:

Freshman Year

English Honors
Chemistry Honors
Algebra 2 Honors
Geometry Honors
Spanish 2
Western Humanities
Band (Oboe)

Grades: Solid, All A's except for English, a B

Sophomore Year

AP Statistics
US History Honors
English 2 Honors
Physics (no honors class, so I took normal)
Pre-calculus Honors
Spanish 3
Band (Oboe)

Grades: Perfect, All A's

Schedule for Junior Year

AP Physics C
AP Calc BC
AP Chem
AP English
AP Economics
Spanish 4
Band (Oboe)

Current GPA: 3.9

Rank is unknown, my school does not rank. I am confident that I am in top 5%

Scores:

Math 2C: 800

AP Stat: 5

Taking more SAT's junior year (the big one and subjects)

EC info:

I am currently captain of my high school's Engineering Team which placed 2nd in a national competition.

I am on my high school's Math Team, and I am favored to be captain in my senior year.

I have an editorial position in my high schools paper, Ombusdman.

I participate on my high school's track team during the winter and spring season, and my events are the 50 m sprint, Javelin and Discus.

Other stuff:

selected of 40 kids in my state, CT, to represent in a national competition.

Scored 2nd highest on the AMC in my high school as a Sophomore (1st was a senior), and took AIME.

I am hearing impaired, not sure how colleges see that, they probably don't care.

I like to stand-up comedy as a hobby, I'll probably talk about that in the application process when they ask me about what I like to do

Just this summer I spent 6 weeks at Cornell taking college classes, and I got A's in all of them (reeeeeaaaaally hard to do that as a High School student; no other High School kids in my class did).

Previous summers I did CTY twice to accelerate my Math and Science classes.

Background: I go to a top-notch public school in CT

So that pretty much sums it up. I am pretty sure I am in the right direction ( for MIT, Stanford and Yale), and have a solid foundation. My more flashy stuff should come junior and senior years. Do you guys agree? What do I need to work on?

Your insight is much appreciated!
