Right schools to be looking at?

Hello :) Im halfway through my junior year of high school and Im beginning my college search and Ive finally decided on all of the schools Im going to tour and all.

The School's: Boston College, Boston University, Holy Cross, Northeastern, Tufts, Brandeis, Villanova and St Johns and Rutgers which I know are safeties

My Stats:

-3.7 unweighted GPA at beginning of junior year, but so far my GPa for junior year has been above my average so that will be going up

-top 10%ish in a class of 110 at private diocesan high school in new york

-6 AP classes taken by the time I graduate

-never took chem or physics, took physical science and anatomy instead and i might be taking human disease or forensics for a science senior year

-made honor roll at my school 5 times and principal list 3 times (both numbers there can go up still)

-national honor society member

-played softball all 4 years of high school

-was a member of SADD club in 9th grade then school got rid of it

-worked on yearbook in 10 and 11 grade

-altar served my whole life outside of school, head serving at my church

-eucharistic minister at school and church

-i live and work on a farm

-havent taken SATs yet but i know i have to aim for over a 2100 for these schools

So what do you think? Any opinions are GREATLY appreciated :)

Go on the web sites of those schools and they will tell you what type of course work they are looking for. Generally, its three years minimum of a lab science. Also three years of foreign language (the same language). But they spell it out in black and white on their web site. You sound motivated, if you can’t afford an SAT prep course, buy a book from the college board and do practice tests yourself. Good luck!

I have already looked on websites and everything but they don;t provide good info on GPA and such. I also already have a SAT prep book and have been studying for the March test for awhile now.

I do have 3 years of lab sciences.

The foriegn language at my school is alittle weird. I took Spanish originally and after 8th grade I had a higher enough average to skip Spanish 1 and go straight to Spanish 2 in 9th. It only goes up to Spanish 3 so I was done with it after 10th grade. I am now in French 1 at my guidance counselor’s suggestion and I hope to take French 2 next year but I don’t know if it will fit into my schedual with the AP’s Im taking.

You’re in at BU, Holy Cross, Northeastern, St. John’s, Villanova, and Rutgers. Tufts, Brandeis, and BC are reaches. You show dedication in your extracurriculars. The reaches are fair game.

Naviance data from our HS shows that Holy Cross is essentially the same average admissions stats as BC and Brandeis.

Thank you for all the opinions so far!
