Right...

My English teacher sadly died during this marking period- and as a result I am going to get a B in the class (Sub. teacher with 3 grades for a whole semester....), anyways I was wondering if this would hurt my chances at Ivy League Colleges? (I currently have a 4.0, 2/450 - should drop b/c of the B but will def. be in the top 5 still) Should I take an AP class online to boost my Weighted GPA/Rank or does it not really even matter? (I'm thinking that It is really insignificant- btw the Class was AP Eng which I'm sure I 4 or 5ed).

You never know what may or may not affect your chances. You should probably explain the situation to colleges when you do apply (How did you teacher suddenly die?) I'm assuming that with a 4.0 GPA you've gotten straight A's. Accordingly, a stray B may look awkward. Even though a teacher dying may be a traumatic experience, is it really a good reason for your grade to have gone down? Switching to a new teacher is difficult, but you're expected to make the transition.

One B will not hurt your chances. They won't put you out of competition just because of a B. It's the other stuff that really matters.

A B will not keep you out of the Ivy League. Maybe your guidance counsoler can explain in her rec.

Not its not the trauma it's just his computer (with his password) got locked up, so basically we got a substitute teacher for a whole semester... she gave us 3 grades total. One of which was a "Peer graded" essay which I got a low grade on.

Your teacher "died" because he horgot his password?
LOL

No I Mean he died and his grades got locked b/c he died LOL =p, badly written my bad =p.

In other words the grades are FUBAR b/c my Teacher Died. It wasn't traumatic or anything it's just alot of us got fuxored...
