I'm a neuroscience major (2nd year) and have recently heard a lot about how hard the neuro classes are...I really love the subject, but I don't want to destroy my gpa because of it

how has been your experience w/ the major?
is it really htat hard to get those A's?

hhahah arcadefire i agree…and ■■■■■ stop acting like an idealist…med schools wont accept someone who got a 3.0 but was ‘passionate’ about his major

And good luck getting through your interviews if you act like a jerk.

hereicome09,

If you enjoy the coursework and think you can handle the courseload now, then I wouldn’t worry too much. Have you done well thus far? If so, you probably will do well later. Generally upper-division courses aren’t so bad because you have a solid foundation from the “weeder” classes.

The OP has not once mentioned that he is pre-med. Please don’t assume that everyone who is a life science major is pre-med.

arcadefire1027,

Easiest majors may be more subjective than you think. Someone who excels at one field may have extreme difficulty in another, even if the majority of people think that the second field is considered “easy”.

That’s why I advised hereicome09 to pursue something he is interested in. The chances are that if it’s something he’s “passionate” about, he’ll most likely be more engaged in it and do better.

GPA is only important for graduate schools. In the real world it doesn’t amount to much.
