I am having a big dilemna regarding the rigor of my senior year schedule. I would love to go to a competitive school like WashU and I believe that I am capable of doing so. However, I have only opted to take 4 AP classes over the last 2 years. I feel like all my friends are getting caught up in this college admissions game, taking 5-6 AP classes that they do not really feel passionate about but are merely taking in order to fit some mold of the ideal college student. I really don't want to sound like I'm making excuses but I do want to enjoy my senior year somewhat. So if I am only taking 2 AP (all others are honors btw) will I be at a significant disadvantage for a competitive college? Any input would be helpful!!! (Idk if it matters but I do have an A average and 2190 SAT. lol Just thought I would throw that in there)

i dont think it will be significant disadvantage, but i do think it will be one none the less. If you go on Collegeboard and go to washU, rigor of secondary school record is a very impt admission factor. Every school likes to see you challanging yourself even if your not passionate abou the class. Just my 2 cents tho

dude I took 7 AP's a year and I was really happy at the end even if I didn't get in where I wanted. Most people are in AP for broadening their horizons, not for a solid app (at least in my case :))
