Hi, I go to a school where you generally have to take intro level courses before APs (makes sense), but they allow students to take AP Chem automatically- as long as you have taken intro physics. So most students take(grade 9 to grade 12), intro bio, intro physics, ap chem, ap some other science. The thing is, I transferred into the school not knowing this option existed, so I took intro chem as a sophomore. Now (since I want to take all 3 sciences) I have to take intro physics as a junior. (Then AP Physics as a senior)
I really want to go to MIT- its my #1 choice. My concern is, most of the students who get into MIT from my school(which is pretty prestigious i guess) take advantage of its multitude of advanced science options.(ie out of the MIT acceptees this yr all of them took ap chem, ap physics, and electronics/robotics) Would I be at a serious disadvantage if the only real ap science I take is AP Physics Senior yr? MIT is a really sciencey techy school so I’m worried. >.<
There’s also the fact that everyone says “take the most rigorous courses available to you at your school” and its clear I haven’t done that because I did not know I could take ap chem! Is there any way I can dig myself out of this hole…?
Thanks
