RIGs?

Thank you!

I got the letter too, but not the “enhanced” one. In any case, does anyone have any idea as to what constitutes “research”? I was thinking of proposing a robotics camp for elementary-age kids, since they say “service learning” is okay, but I’m not sure whether that’s research-y or innovative enough.

What are your grant proposals about?

Mine says March 16? What is the deadline?!

Do you have to be nominated or can an accepted student self-nominate? If so, what is the application deadline? Thank you!

Student must receive an invitation with their acceptance to apply for a RIG.

However, even if a student doesn’t receive a RIG, there are other options for getting summer research funded through the Office of Undergraduate Research. Additionally, most (all?) departments have their own summer grant programs.

The Office of Undergraduate Research is an invaluable resource for students:

Thanks for the good information, WOWM!

when will we be notified if we got it or not?

IIRC, D2 got her award notification in mid April.

Does anybody know if you have to commit to Rochester before you apply for the extended grant? I’m not 100% sure I’ll know for sure if I’m ready to commit by April 13th which I think is what the letter said was the deadline for the extended application.
