I just got accepted to RISD and I've been looking at financial aid options but haven't found very many. RISD costs around $40,000 per year! And I really don't know if that's worth it. I also got accepted to Trinity and UNC Wilmington, but I really love art and RISD feels like the kind of school where someone can truly immerse themselves in creativity. So does any have any info about how others have paid for RISD?
I don't want to leave college with a ton of debt, but Trinity and UNCW aren't as well known for their art programs and RISD is usually considered the "top" art school in the nation.

Unless they give you aid or scholarships, or your parents are willing to foot the bill - there really is no way to afford it. People afford college through aid and scholarships from the school or their parents paying. You can only get about $5.5K in loans.

RISD actually costs like 62,000 a year. In order to go to RISD you have to be rich or on scholarship. The only reason I currently attend RISD is because on scholarship and financial aid. If RISD gave you enough aid go for it. If not its time to start cracking down on scholarships and hounding the RISD financial aid office. RISD’s worth it.
