RISD and Thanksgiving do not mix?

<p>I started a thread over on the RISD board about Thanksgiving. My frosh D tells me she is expected to stay on campus over this holiday to do course work.</p>

<p>Mine is too. But we live far from campus.</p>

<p>I don’t know anything about being “expected” to stay on campus, but your daughter will certainly not be alone. We live in AZ, so my son usually stayed there over Thanksgiving weekend. He says that most of the kids who live far from Providence did the same, but people from the Northeast tended to go home.</p>

<p>There is a traditional Thanksgiving dinner – turkey and all the trimmings – on Thanksgiving Day in The Met.</p>

<p>Thanks, worried_mom. We were prepared to fly her home for the holidays (in and of itself not that much fun), but she said she was told “plan to stay for Thanksgiving”.</p>
