is RISD worth the money? should I just forget about it?

Can your family afford it? If not, go to Parsons.

Although RISD is considered by many to be “the Harvard of art schools,” it is NOT worth taking on major debt to pay for it if you have acceptable, less-costly alternatives.

thanks, but …really?

sigh, i just feel like a dream lost at sea… T_T

If you really like RISD but can’t go because of money, why not go to Parsons first, build up a portfolio and transfer to RISD the year after?

Who knows, maybe you’ll find more finaid (from RISD or outside of RISD) that way.

i say go the RISD,
unless you plan on doingg something in fashion-then parsons

Be careful. RISD’s acceptance rate for transfers is much, much lower than the freshmen acceptance rate, and some of your credits from Parsons might not transfer over. Also, RISD has LESS financial aid available for transfers than for incoming freshmen.

I would lean towards RISD over Parsons. When you are calculating cost don’t forget to add up all fees before you subtract the aid given. I know they have comparable fees, but what about living costs, and travel expenses?

Are there no Canadian school!?!?!
